The brief described a city in the clouds made out of “living bone spires”. I immediately thought of ram and ibex horns and set out to design the spires to match. Each spire is constructed out of a single slice made into a “component” object, then replicated, downscaled, and rotated slightly over and over again until the each reaches a reasonable “point.” The interior “spine” is a rescaled copy of the original tower and the platforms are created by removing four intermediate slices. The way this was executing using “components” each tower was easy to edit into a unique shape by moving or rotaging the initial slice component, or by creating a new shaped for the initial slice. These were the final designs after about four design iterations.
